WhatsOn Cover : Years & Years

Years & Years performed as a five-piece band, and their debut single, “I Wish I Knew,” was released in July 2012 on the label Good Bait. The trio joined the French record company Kitsuné Records in 2013, and in September of same year, they dropped their second single, “Traps.” Ben Whishaw, who starred with Alexander in the film Peter and Alice, as well as Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, who played Nathan in the Misfits, both had appearances in the music video for their third song, “Real,” which was published via Kitsuné in February 2014.
The group joined Polydor Records in 2014, and their fourth song, “Take Shelter,” was released. On the UK Singles Electronic Chart for iTunes, the EP peaked at number 1. The group’s fifth single, “Desire,” was released in December 2014 and peaked at No. 22 on the UK singles chart. Years & Years’ sixth song, “King,” which was chosen as Zane Lowe’s Hottest Record of the Day in January 2015, was premiered on BBC Radio 1. The song peaked at number one on the Official UK Chart in March 2015.

Years & Years are then featured as the Cover Star on WhatsOn Covers Student Guide.
