Music Monday: Latest Music of this week

Our music editor Adam Humphries brings you the latest music of the week. Make sure to add them to your playlist!

The Kut – Satellite

From up-and-coming British singer songwriter and musician who’s better known by her stage name, Kut. For a single it’s a rather interesting one in that it’s about the relations between people and how their feelings, the way it affects them. When you listen to the lyrics they are really deep and reach somewhat personal levels, and of course, the very power of those emotions

“Your love could stop the rain falling”

As a singer Kut’s voice slices straight through the music and you can feel the strength of what she says when it comes out of her. Her voice doesn’t sound like you’d think it would if you took her appearance at face value. If anything, she’s in a similar musical vein to Paramore’s front-woman Haley. Even the video has some depth

Barzin – Voyeurs in the Dark

Canadian musical maestro Barzin has released his 5th studio album, Voyeurs in the Dark. It’s 10 tracks long and is absolutely jam packed with a fleeting musical landscape of tunes to check out. Straight from the word go of the first track you are almost immediately send on this, what can only be described as, a cinematic experience solely for the ears. Voyeurs is a mixture of jazz, rock and electronic sounds, there’s going to be something in it regardless of your musical preferences. From yours truly, the playlist below

Ruby Tingle – Flood

Well, it’s official, there must be something in the waters up north as Manchester has kept this female musical powerhouse of a talent under wraps until now. Ruby Tingle could easily be seen as the northern answer to Kate Bush. Yes she is that good it is practically unbelievable. Her new single, Flood, is practically a musical gem in its very own right and from the moment you listen you are practically swept away in a pool of electronic and rock sounds. Ruby’s singing voice is as magnetic as it is haunting yet maintaining that steady melodic flow which helps keep it going afloat (pardon the H2O puns).

Equally the lyrics are just as captivating as the beats themselves.

“My eyes feel deadly, waterlogged”
