Metal music festival Hammersonic 2020 has been postponed to March 26 and 27, 2022 due to the global pandemic. Puza Snigdha reports.
The festival was set to take place back in March and postponed to Jan 2021. Then with the rise of the second wave of the COVID-19, the festival authorities have announced that the festival will return in 2022.
Hammersonic Festival is one of the biggest metal festival Southeast Asia.
Ravel Entertainment, the festival organizers have announced the date, place and additional information about the festival today. The festival will take place at Carnaval Beach, Ancol.
“We understand this information will be hard to accept, especially the Hammerheads [who have] already held [tickets],” the announcement reads.
The festival is very hit because of their action plan that includes international acts and local favorites. The upcoming lineup includes names like Slipknot along with Lacuna Coil, Black Flag, Suicide Silence and many more.
On the other side, Indonesia’s Foreign Minister announced that the borders will be closed to the foreign travelers for the first two weeks of 2021, as UK has found a new strain of the virus.
The country also continues to face a rise in positive cases nine months into the pandemic. It is predicted that the surge may not waver in 2021.
