The American star Lady Gaga is set to perform the United States national anthem at Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’ inauguration ceremony on 20 January. Puza Snigdha reports.
In 2016, the singer performed at the opening of Super Bowl and got lots of complements.
“America United” is the theme of Mr. Biden’s inauguration. Besides, this inauguration will be a bit different as it won’t allow a massive crowd due to the raise of COVID-19. The president has urged his supporters to stay at home and watch from afar.
The inauguration committee has shared the event’s full lineup on Thursday via Twitter. The program will also feature appearances from Jennifer Lopez, Justin Timberlake, Jon Bon Jovi, Demi Lovato, Ant Clemons, Andrea Hall, Amanda Gorman, and more.
Jennifer Lopez will give a musical performance, Andrea Hall will lead the Pledge of Allegiance, and activist and poet Amanda Gorman will read a piece of poetry.
Timberlake and singer song-writer Clemons will perform their new song Better Days.
“To say that this is a dream come true, would be an understatement!”, says Clemons to share his joy.
Tom Hanks will host the 90 minutes long primetime TV special.
Talking about the event, the show producers said, the TV special “will showcase the American people’s resilience, heroism, and unified commitment to coming together as a nation to heal and rebuild”.
ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC and MSNBC will broadcast the show live at 7:30 p.m. on January 20. Additionaly tt will be live on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Twitch, Amazon Prime Video, Microsoft Bing, NewsNOW, DirectTV and U-verse.
