Killing Eve season 3 opens on a huge plot twist

Killing Eve season 3 launches on BBC iPlayer with an unexpected twist!

*Spoilers ahead*

The incredibly popular cat-and-mouse British drama/comedy is back for a third season, and the premiere episode welcomes us back with a surprising twist.

In the final moments of the newly-released episode, a body discovered by Eve (played by Sandra Oh) is revealed to be Kenny (Sean Delaney), the former hacker who played a major part in the first two seasons of the show.

Showrunner Suzanne Heathcote has addressed the surprising start of season three and the decision to kill such a beloved character with Entertainment Weekly, telling them:

“We had to think long and hard about it… Those decisions are never easy. But with this story, given everything that had happened to Eve the past two seasons, we really felt we had to honour where she was at.

“And nothing was going to bring her back into investigating the Twelve for a professional reason. It was just too much water under the bridge for her, emotionally.

“So we knew there had to be something really personal happen to bring her back in. And the more beloved the character, the more it means when they go. So it’s always a double-edged sword.

However, in the world of television, nothing is impossible! Addressing whether audiences could see Kenny again, possibly in the form of a flashback, Heathcote commented: “It’s a world in which anything can happen. So never say never.”
