Jazz may never be a music form that lights up the charts very often. It can be almost impenetrable at times to those who aren’t familiar with its intricacies. Bobby Watson though makes it sound like a kitten purring, and we all like that don’t we? Keepin’ It Real featuring a new incarnation of his band Horizon, now dubbed New Horizon is a jazz album that will reach far. It does get a little indulgent at times but mainly it just oozes class. Now well into his 60s, Watson has once again proven that age is no barrier to making great music.
