iHeartRadio Music Festival Announces Virtual Lineup

iHeartMedia Festival, which will be live-streamed this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, has announced the lineup of names including BTS, Coldplay, Kane Brown, Keith Urban, Migos, Miley Cyrus, Thomas Rhett, Usher and more. Puza Snigdha reports.

iHeartRadio Music Festival is coming back as it celebrates it’s 10th anniversary which will be live-streamed on September 18 and 19 via the CW app and CWTV.com.

The event has been filmed on stages in Los Angeles and Nashville, and each night five acts will be broadcast and fans able to tune in via iHeartRadio stations and The CW website.

“This year’s iHeartRadio Music Festival will pay tribute to the connection between fans and artists,” says the authority. “Music fans will have the opportunity to introduce artists, as well as enjoy virtual meet and greets. Finally, fans watching live will also have the chance to appear in a special fan video wall and be serenaded by their favourite artists.”

The annual festival has been hitting the stage every September, for two nights on the third weekend of the month, for the past nine years. But this will be the first time where there will no screaming audience.

“We do have a theater — the iHeartRadio Theater in Los Angeles — which will be completely scrubbed and cleaned with no audience,” John Sykes, iHeartMedia president of entertainment enterprises.

“We’ll put a Zoom suite of fans in there so the artists can look out and see, but they won’t really be there. And we’ll have a production team outside the facility remotely in a parking lot and the artists will have the venue to themselves for an entire day. They’ll be able to rehearse, plug in and play live, we’ll have video effects and sound.”
