Disgraced Spacey in Film Flop

Former House of Cards lead, Kevin Spacey, who had been fired due to prevous sexual assault allegations, has had a major flop in his latest film ‘Billionaire Boys Club’. The film had been screened only in 10 cities in the US and has made $126 (£98) so far. The ‘Billionaire Boys Club’ was made before the allegations dating back more than 30 years began to face against him last October.
Even though the movie features other big actors such as Ansel Elgort and Taron Egerton, it still did not reach a significant success. Elgort and Spacey were both in another film, ‘Baby Driver’, which took more than $20m at the box office in its opening weekend. Some experts claim that ‘Billionaire Boys Club’ will struggle to make even $ 1000, as the movie has not been screened in neither LA nor New York.
The distributors of the film, Vertical Entertainment, mentioned at the launch: “We hope these distressing allegations that were not publicly known when the film was made almost two and a half years ago will not tarnish the release of the film”.
The film itself is based on real-life investing and social club in the 80s, accused of crash barriers such as accused of being part of a Ponzi scheme.
