On June 18 Chloe performed “Feeling Good,” at the ABC special event Juneteenth: Together We Triumph, a cover of Nina Simone’s 1965 classic.

The song is her first solo release and it is also part of the collecting album Music for the Movement Volume 3. Chloe drew lots of attention. While many viewers were impressed by Chloe’s vocal range. Some people claimed that her voice was “too sexy” and not suitable for a Nina Simone cover.

Enter Nina Simone’s granddaughter, RéAnna Simone Kelly supported Chloe’s performance. She wrote on Twitter, “Everyone’s coming at @ChloeBailey for her performance of my grandmother Nina Simone’s song ‘Feeling Good.’ But what y’all don’t understand is that grandma was a free-spirited woman herself!! She would’ve loved that performance as much as I do! Relax. Chloe killed it.”

Before that Chloe has faced social media reactions for her sensualness. Some random internet people expressed disapproval at Chloe taking part in the #BussItChallenge and Silhouette Challenge. But the criticism has not discouraged Chloe.

Nina Simone was a revolutionary musician and singer who challenged the establishment on racism, gender discrimination, and sexual orientation harassment., In the 1960s, she danced naked in The Maze, a Monrovian discotheque in Liberia. Ms. Simone was an activist and a free spirit.
