Norway duo wins gold in cross-country sprint

Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo completed a second straight cross-country double Wednesday by teaming with Erik Valnes to give Norway the gold medal in the team sprint race at the Beijing Games. Klaebo won the individual sprint and has become the second man to win both the team and individual sprint twice. 

Germany wins gold in thrilling women’s cross-country skiing team sprint classic

Germany pipped pre-race favorite Sweden and the Russian Olympic Committee to win gold in the women’s team sprint classic in a thrilling three-way finish down the home straight. Victoria Carl burst past Sweden’s Jonna Sundling on the final corner and held her off by a mere 0.17 seconds, with the ROC’s Natalya Nepryayeva just 0.71 seconds behind.

Sweden wins women’s biathlon relay gold

Team Sweden has won the Olympic gold medal in the women’s 4X6km (3.7 miles) biathlon relay. The four Swedish members of Linn Persson, Mona Brorsson, Hanna Oeberg, and Elvira Oeberg won the gold with a time of 1 hour 11 minutes, and 3.9 seconds, which was exactly 12 seconds faster than the silver medalists of the Russian Olympic Committee.

Clement Noel Wins Gold for France in Men’s Slalom

Clement Noel of France won the men’s slalom, with a combined time of 1:44.09. Noel, who entered the finals with the sixth-fastest qualifying time, jumped into the gold medal position with the fastest time of the final round. He then had to wait as some of the best skiers in the world tried to bump him out of first place.
