Women’s right in danger as Roe v Wade judgement to be overturned by Supreme court in American suggested that it could scrap the classic judgement of Roe V Wade regarding abortion.

An American endocrinologist and psychologist, Estelle R. Ramey said, “women’s chains have been forged by men, not by anatomy”. This has been proved true from time immemorable. Women have been tagged as “weaker sections” or as the “other” of the society and has been denied every right to choice. Supreme court’s decision have been leaked suggesting that right of abortion of be scrapped. The draft suggests first opinion on a challenge to an abortion ban in Mississippi.

The Provence of the document which has been published by the Politico website, but it has not yet been confirmed. But the Supreme Court has declined to disown it. This scrapping of judgement showcases the conservative majority on the Supreme Court. Signed by Justice Samuel Alito, it says that, “Roe and Casey must be overruled. It is time…to return the issue of abortion to people’s elected representative”.

Since the Mississippi case went to the court, US states have been rushing to ban or protect the right to terminate pregnancy. Their is huge uproar in the US with mass protests and women activist campaigning against it. President Biden declared that, “basic fairness and the stability of our law demand” that the Supreme court to maintain Roe v Wade judgement.

Activist groups have marched and said that it was “horrified, sad and livid”. This ban on right is the attack on the basic right of freedom. Women have always been pinned and chained down under patriarchy. This anti- abortion right needs nation wide demonstration to fight out the evil of the society and protect women’s rights.
