If you’re a keen gamer or at least like to keep your finger on the pulse, you may have noticed a surge of plates on the popular 2018 game, Among Us. Libby Sparks reports.
This game is available on PC through Steam and for free on mobile devices but was released in 2018. It’s achieving astounding numbers in the Twitch and YouTube viewing ratings however, with favourites all turning their hands to the murder mystery game.
Where Fall Guys was once the filler game of choice while fans eagerly await Fifa 21 and other titles, it now seems to be Among Us, but why now?
With the game being relatively old, it’s success seems to be coming from the aforementioned streamers who have now rediscovered it. A recent study showed that an average of nearly 500 channels on Twitch had streamed the game on a daily basis over the entirety of August.
It is easy to see why the game is popular amongst streamers. As a group you try find the player (or players) who have been sabotaging the teams mission, the ‘Imposter’. The game follows a The impostor’s goal is sabotage their space-ship and kill everyone.
Games can become very heated amongst friends as everyone mutes in the midst of the gameplay.
