Trailer of Aretha Franklin’s biopic “Respect” is out now!

Originally scheduled to be released in August 2020, the release has since been pushed back due to the Coronavirus pandemic and is now set to be released in limited cinemas on January 2021. Anika Khan reports.

Plot> The movie titled ‘Respect’ stars Jennifer Hudson as the Queen of Soul.

The movie ‘Respect’ will outline the rise of Aretha Franklin’s career from her childhood singing in her father’s church choir to becoming an international star. We are expected to see Franklin’s rise to fame, her signing with a music manager and the legendary singer belting out the song “Respect”.

The movie is directed by Liesl Tommy and written by Tracey Scott Wilson. Franklin, who in 2018 died of pancreatic cancer at the age 76, was a producer on the film.
