The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Renewed for Season 3 By Amazon

Amazon’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel has been renewed for a third season. Creator Amy-Sherman Palladino teased the news this weekend while accepting the series’ Peabody Award during a ceremony in New York.
The acclaimed comedy drama series focuses on a Manhattan housewife who decides to become a stand-up comedian. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’s pilot premiered in March 2017, starring Rachel Broshnahan as the titular character that experiences an existential crisis after her “perfect” marriage falls apart.
The first season of Mrs. Maisel found Midge trying her hand at an independent life while secretly navigating the pitfalls of the stand-up comedy world, befriending real-life stand-up comedy icons like Lenny Bruce (Luke Kirby) and making enemies out of fictional contemporaries like Sophie Lennon (Jane Lynch).
The show has received quite a lot of awards season attention, winning the Golden Globes for Best Television Series — Musical or Comedy and Best Actress for Brosnahan. The series also won the Critics Choice Awards for Best Comedy Series and Best Actress for Brosnahan, and earned a Supporting Actress nod for Borstein.
Sherman-Palladino is best known as the creator of Gilmore Girls and its subsequent miniseries revival A Year in the Life, which was released on Netflix in 2016.
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel will return for season two later this year. Season three has yet to be put on Amazon’s calendar, but will likely consist of 10 episodes, one more than seasons one and two’s combined 18-episode order.
