Tasty @CafeOn Veg Gyoza Recipe

Always breaking on junks and then finding a healthier option for your diet? The wait’s over here. This gyoza recipe will give your taste buds the right amount of flavour and help you forget that bland diet food. It’s savoury, it’s flavourful and yet craving at the same time. Your guilt will all be over with this lip-smacking recipe.


Ingredients


For the dough:


• 1 cup of all-purpose flour or wheat flour
• 1 teaspoon sugar
• ½ teaspoon salt or 1 teaspoon soya sauce
• 2 teaspoon oil
• Water as required


For the filling:


• 1 cup of carrots finely chopped
• 1 cup of onions finely chopped
• 1 cup of cabbage thinly sliced
• ½ cup of capsicum finely chopped
• ½ cup of yellow and green bell pepper finely chopped
• ½ cup of mushrooms finely chopped
• ½ cup of boiled sweet corn
• 1 teaspoon of minced ginger
• 2 teaspoons of minced ginger
• 2-3 teaspoons of soya sauce
• ½ teaspoon of black pepper powder
• ½ teaspoon of paprika powder
• 1-2 teaspoons of cooking oil
For the gyoza
• 2-3 teaspoons of cooking oil
• Water ½ cup


Instructions


To prepare the dough:


• Take a large bowl and add the flour (either all-purpose flour or wheat flour) salt, sugar, and oil.
• Mix the dry ingredients along with the oil together.
• Add water and knead a soft dough.
• Let it sit for ½ an hour.

Gyoza Dough


To prepare the filling:


• Take a pan and add oil to the pan.
• Let the pan heat for a minute. Add minced ginger garlic and finely chopped onions.
• Saute them for a minute or two till the onions are translucent.
• Add the finely chopped carrots and cabbage.
• Add the finely chopped capsicums and bell peppers.
• Add the finely chopped mushrooms and boiled sweet corn
• Saute all the vegetables in high heat for a minute or two.
• Add salt pepper and paprika powder. Mix all of it.
• Let the vegetables fry for two to three minutes. The crunch of the vegetables should remain intact.
• Move it from the flame and let the mixture cool to room temperature.


To prepare the gyoza:


• Take the rested dough and knead a little. It will make the dough smooth.
• Divide the dough into small coin-sized dough balls.
• Take a rolling pin and grease it with some oil. Roll out the dough in small circles.
• Take 1-1½ teaspoon of the prepared filling and place it in the centre of the dough.
• Line the edges with water. Fold the rolled circle in half. Seal the ends properly.
• You can use a fork to make designs or just press with your hands and seal the ends.
• Take a pan and heat some oil and place the dumplings and cover it with a lid in a medium-high flame for four to five minutes.
• Open the lid and add some water. Cover and cook the gyozas for six to ten minutes on medium-low flame.
• Take them out and serve them on a plate along with a soya sauce dip.
Gyoza is ready to eat.
