The Super Bowl is probably one of the biggest events on the sporting calendar – especially for followers of American football. This year’s Super Bowl in Minneapolis saw the Philadelphia Eagles win their first Super Bowl after a thrilling game against title defenders the New England Patriots. The final score was 41 – 33.
Aside from the actual match, the Super Bowl always comes with a much anticipated half-time show. This year Justin Timberlake was the one in charge of entertaining the masses present at the event and watching it at home.
Having released his first album a day earlier, Justin Timberlake took to the stage to deliver a live music performance that was entertaining but nothing out of the ordinary as is normally expected of the music during the half-time show.
In true Justin Timberlake fan, it was still fun – he sang all of his most iconic hits along to impressive choreography. He also took the opportunity to pay tribute to pop extraordinaire Prince in his hometown.
The most recent trailers for the most anticipated films of the year also made an appearance. The Star Wars spin-off about Han Solo’s youth took the chance to start up its promotional machine as the first trailer was shown.
There was also enough airing time to give spectators another look at what Avengers: Infinity War might bring, as well as another look at the new Mission: Impossible and Jurassic World.
When it comes to TV, a spot for the highly anticipated season two of HBO’s Westworld and a first look at Amazon’s Jack Ryan and Hulu’s Stephen King adaptation Castle Rock were all released for the world to get excited about.
