We are looking for former members of the Sea Cadets, Girls’ Nautical Training Corps and Navy League to share their stories. My LegaSea is a multi-generational research project uncovering interesting stories about people’s experiences as young cadets and also where life has taken them since.
To date, we have heard from over 2,500 former cadets across the UK. But we know there are more people with memories of their time in the Sea Cadets that have yet to take part in our online survey.
Were you a cadet in your younger years? Do you have friends who were? We would love to hear more about your experiences to help us understand the impact of the Sea Cadets on people’s lives in the longer term.
As well as the traditional routes into naval and maritime professions, we are also interested in the unusual or unexpected careers and pastimes of former cadets.
Or perhaps you are the oldest living former sea cadet and can remember being in the corps around World War Two.
All stories are welcome through our online survey available here – www.sea-cadets.org/my-legasea or you can request a paper copy of the survey from our researcher Anna – [email protected]
