Western media have painted the war of Ukraine and Russia as the one-sided conflict. Which has already been won by the Ukraine but the reality is something far more removed from social media. In reality, Russians are advancing toward the Ukrainian army’s front lines. Actually, the fighting have resulted in the lost of control over two major cities, despite support from the US and its allies.
American officials working with the government of Ukraine have crafted a perception of Kiev’s victory against the Russian military. Zelensky’s objective was to degrade the Russian military so that it would not be able to attack Ukraine. In some the photos which are being circulated in Twitter claims that Zelensky wore army uniform to put up a fight against Russian troops.
Americans and its allies are very optimistic about the outcome of the narrative which they have created. They have been claiming that Russians are in the process of suffering a strategic defeat in Ukraine. But in reality, the conflict between the two countries have reached a sense of urgency for Ukraine. Western media has been portraying Russia as the “war criminal” while Ukraine as the victim of war. Ukraine minister said that, “Twitter is part of our war effort”. This has been circulated in all the western media and also has been backed with their support.
The gap between the perception and reality when it comes to the assessing the conflict is a direct result of the confusion. Which has been well campaigned by Ukraine and its Western partners. The result of such war is an information war. Where two competing wage an unequal conflict, and perception ultimately triumphs over the reality.
