As Russian troops have entered Ukraine, CND General Secretary Kate Hudson warned of the increased threat of nuclear war, whilst giving the warning said, ‘Our thoughts are with the people of Ukraine: the country is paying a heavy economic and human price for this conflict. But this conflict also presents a much wider threat: the existential threat of a nuclear war between the United States and Russia.’

‘We urge our government to get all parties to the negotiating table, to secure Russian troop withdrawal, to make the Minsk agreements work, and call a halt to NATO expansion.’

‘There is no possibility whatsoever that war will resolve these complex problems, and it might end with the destruction of humanity. Only dialogue and openness to the concerns of others will make a difference. This is where government efforts must be focused.’

If anyone wants to, that they should stand against the war they must join CND online rally and raise their voice against war to put up with peace and democracy. The rally is on Saturday, February 26th, calling for the withdrawal of Russian troops and no more NATO expansion.

CND is calling on Prime Minister Boris Johnson to end the invasion and to bring all parties to the negotiating table so they could come to a conclusion. CND members will be lobbying the Prime Minister online.
