Reading and Leeds festival 2021 release another heavy-led male lineup

After this year’s Reading and Leeds festival were canceled due to COVID-19, the lineup for next summer’s bank holiday weekend gig and festival-goers are not happy.

The bank holiday weekend festival is set to return next summer with two main stages – meaning no clashes between artists performing and the six headliners.

Headliners include Stormzy, Catfish And The Bottlemen, Post Malone, Disclosure, Liam Gallagher, and Queens Of The Stone Ages.

With the festival only having 2 female headliners in 25 years, and the last female headliner being Paramore co-headlining 7 years ago, the lineup left a lot of festival fans unhappy with the lack of inclusion.

With more stages being introduced is the perfect chance to address the issue and the festival coming under the same scrutiny last year for failing to include female headliners, fans took to Twitter to express their thoughts on next summer’s lineup with one saying:

“You could’ve had Dua, Billie, Gaga, Lizzo to name a couple but you go for an all Male headline? I really wanted to be excited about Reading and Leeds fest.”

Female stars including Doja Cat, Mabel, and Madison Beer were announced as part of next year’s line-up, but featured lower down on the festival’s lineup poster and not as headliner acts.
