Rashida Jones and frontman of Vampire Weekend, Ezra Koenig welcomed a baby son last month, People magazine reports. According to People, the baby’s name is Isaiah Jones Koenig.
The couple’s child was born on August 22. This is the first child for both Jones , 42 and Koenig, 34, although the pair have never publicly acknowledged their relationship status. They kept the news under wraps until 26 September.
Whilst they weren’t reported to be dating until last year, the pair have known each other for some time: Jones — daughter of legendary producer Quincy Jones and actress Peggy Lipton — appeared on Koenig’s Beats 1 Radio show back in 2015 and talked about asking a teenage Robin Thicke to a school dance before abruptly rescinding the invitation.
“I was 12, 13. His dad was on Growing Pains and my mom was on Twin Peaks at the same time, so we met at an ABC party and we flirted and exchanged numbers — landlines obviously,” Jones told Koenig. “I called him and asked him to come to junior high prom with me. And then for whatever reason — I don’t remember this, he reminded me of this a few years ago — I called him back and said, ‘I’m so sorry. You can’t come with me because Al B. Sure is actually coming with me.'”
