Ramu (Buddhist village)

Ramu is an Upazila under Cox’s Bazar District which is Attractive by artful oldest artistry based wood made Buddhist Bihar & archeological monument. The typical Buddhist village is about 15 km. from Cox’s Bazar. There are monasteries, Khyangs and pagodas containing images of Buddha in gold , bronze and other metal , Inlaid with precious stones. One of the most interesting temples stands on the bank of the Baghkhali river.
It contains not only interesting relics and Burmese handicrafts but also a large bronze statue of Buddha measuring on a six-foot high pedestal. The wood carving of this khyang is delicately intricate and refined. The place is an attraction for old history of this country.
