Prince’s Paisley Park Seeking a New Employee

Management at Prince’s Paisley Park has a job opening that is perfect for a Prince fan.
The job is based in Chanhassen, Minn., outside of Minneapolis, where Paisley Park is located. After the artist’s death in April 2016 from an accidental drug overdose, the home and studio complex was opened full-time for tours.
Management will hire a candidate who will “actively work in the care, catalogue, storage and preservation of all artefacts and archival materials; the care, cleaning, and monitoring of all exhibits.”
The applicant must also have the “ability to perceive and deal with sensitive issues and maintain confidentiality.” It also requires “prior knowledge/experience with artifact handling, storage, and conservation” along with 2-3 years minimum experience and a college degree.
The late ‘Purple Rain’ artist always intended for the compound – where he lived and recorded after its construction in 1988 – to be transformed into a museum once he passed away. In preparation, he left behind guidelines on how to run the exhibit. His family said that they wanted to keep Paisley Park operating as if the artist was still alive.
