Police officer murdered in Berkshire – ten suspects arrested

A murder investigation has been launched into the murder of police officer Andrew Harper, killed while attending a reported burglary.

Ten individuals have been arrested on suspicion of the murder, including a 13-year-old boy. The suspects are all male and aged between 13-30. They are currently being kept in custody as the investigation is carried out.

PC Andrew Harper was killed while attending a reported burglary. Reports from Thames Valley Police say that the incident happened at approximately 11.30pm on 15 August near the A4 between Reading and Newbury.

Deputy Chief Constable, Jason Hogg, said: “Our deepest thoughts at this time are of course with Andrew’s friends and family, who are being supported by specially trained family liaison officers.

A scene watch remains in place at the scene of the incident and Ufton Lane and Lambdens Hill remain closed.
