Nibedan recently held a three day virtual music fest on their Facebook page. Anika Khan reports.
The virtual music fest was organised by World Music Day and anchored by Biswajit Roy who is the secretary of Bangladesh Sangeet Sanghatan Sammannay Parishad. Throughout the festival, singers performed modern, patriotic and popular tracks and the event received a huge positive response from fans.
The audience was entertained with songs penned by our national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, Henmanta Mukhopadhyay and Atul Prasahd Sen. The festival opened with the melodious tunes sang by Makbul Hossain Sumona Das and Panna Dutta. Â
The second day of the festival saw Singer Nasima Shahin, Shahid Kabir Palash, Sanjar Kabiraj sways the viewers with their melodious hits and more. The festival ended on Saturday with concluding performances from Salma Akbar, Lina Das and Suma Rani Roy.
The audiences have thoroughly enjoyed the program and there have been an immense request for programs like to be held in the future.
With the Covid-19 pandemic limiting people to go to open concerts and fests, hosting online music events is an innovative way to keep up the spirit of unity through music.
