Rina Sawayama released her debut album ‘SAWAYAMA’ in April this year to critical acclaim. Her mix of pop, rock, and electronic music created an album quite unlike most other albums – she proved she could do multiple genres within the 13 tracks, and yet this album still feels cohesive. Elton John named this album his favorite of the year so far, and I agree.

The album perfectly summarises her feelings of the current pandemic and gives fans a glimpse into a relationship under strain.
