Music Monday: Top 5 selection of this week!

Our music editor Adam Humphries brings you the top 5 pieces of music for listening to this week. Make sure to add them to your playlist!

Adele – Oh My God

This music video shows multiple Adele, accompanied by dancers and others, in a surreal barroom, singing and dancing and stunting around lots and lots of wooden chairs “Oh My God” marks Adele’s second official music video off of “30.” Her first, for the album’s lead single “Easy on Me,” debuted in October, a month ahead of the release of “30.” “Oh My God” is the second single off of the album. “30” enjoyed the biggest number of blockbuster album releases in 2021, debuting with 839,000 album-equivalent units, according to Billboard. “30” became the top-selling album of the year in just three days of release.

The Weeknd – Sacrifice

“Sacrifice,” The Weeknd’s another single, is more of the irresistible fare for which The Weeknd has become known. He knows how to keep things interesting, pulling off homage that doesn’t feel outdated, and re-tooling throwback sounds for the present day.

Sam Fender – 17 Going Under

It is one of the best songs of Sam Fender’s yet. As a child, Fender idolized Bruce Springsteen; now his work attempts to outrun his long shadow. But while 17 Going Under excels when Fender looks inward, the intimacy is disrupted by scattered political musings. In the album’s most successful moments, Fender reexamines his teenage years.

Wolf Alice – Delicious Things

This song has a great vibe. Wolf Alice has delivered a top-class album with a video for every single track that ties the whole album together. A real full production standard video for each song too, not just lyrics and some flash animation. This song can be described as the elegant and mischievous Delicious Things.

Indiana – Solo Dancing

Indiana’s “Solo Dancing” is a song about constant movement that eliminates heat from the physical equation. Ostensibly, it is a song about joyously dancing on your own, the quiet sadness of Robyn’s 2010 single refracted into a solitary passion fiercely earned and maintained.
