Motown The Musical Press Launch

It is safe to say that Motown The Musical is hotly anticipated by many. This spectacular showcase of song and dance will hit the New Alexandra Theatre in Birmingham from 11 Oct – 3 Nov 2018 and people of all ages are thoroughly looking forward to taking a journey into the magical world of motown.
WhatsOn was lucky enough to gain access to the press launch of Motown The Musical, which was held earlier today at the Jam House in Birmingham. This meant we had insight into the upcoming production – we were treated to snippets by performers, promotional video extracts and talks by the organisers behind this brilliant event.
The content enabled us to learn more about the genre of music itself whilst also acknowledging Berry Gordy, Motown Founder, for his personal involvement in the creation of Motown The Musical. There was footage from the opening of the London preview, which highlighted just how well this musical has been received.
Talented performers took to the stage to give us a sneak peek of what can be expected from the show – think soulful music, high energy choreography and catchy songs which will get your head bobbing and feet tapping! The costumes were brilliant and the characters really in-tune with the theme of the production.
A special thank you must also be given to the organisers of the launch – The Jam House was a lovely venue with a great atmosphere and the caterers sorted us out with cold juices, hot beverages, deliciously sticky ribs, mini burgers, flavoursome fishcakes and seasoned wedges.
In summary: Motown The Musical must not be missed. It promises fun and frolics as it tells the thrilling story of Berry, the man who overcome obstacles to create a legacy, one that is so much more than a record label.
