Artist: Frances Quinlan
You get a sense of artistic bursting at the seams with Likewise, the first solo album from Hop Along’s Frances Quinlan. It’s an expansive well written work that does cram an awful lot in. The highly regarded guitarist can be heard here also on auto harp and synthesizer, showing that she is very much a multi-instrumentalist. With vocals erring towards the twee and an overall tempo sat firmly in folk territory Likewise may raise a few eyebrows from Hop Along fans. Played more than once though and this record will continue to grow on you.
