Let’s Walk & Talk about Eating Disorders

Eating disorders are serious mental illnesses which affect at least 1.25 million people in the UK. They affect people of all ages and all backgrounds, and too often they ruin and even take lives.
Beat is the UK’s eating disorder charity. We exist to end the pain and suffering caused by eating disorders. We support those suffering from eating disorders, their friends and families through our helpline and online services, available 365 days a year. We campaign for better access to treatment, provide training to education and healthcare professionals, and raise awareness.
We know that the sooner someone seeks treatment the more likely they are to make a full, sustained recovery. But often people are too afraid, ashamed or anxious to seek help. We need to break the silence on eating disorders and empower everyone to seek the help they deserve.
You can help combat stigma, secrecy and misunderstanding this September by joining Beat’s Walk & Talk events in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London on 8th September and Heaton Park, Manchester on 22nd September. Come together to enjoy a relaxed stroll through a beautiful park, with a friendly, compassionate group and help fund Beat’s vital support services.
