Backstreet Boys Cancel Gig Due to Storm Injuring 14 Fans

Backstreet Boys recently had to cancel one of their gigs due to extreme weather conditions.
The popular band were all set to perform in Oklahoma, on stage at the WinStar World Casino and Resort, when a storm hit the venue and caused a metal structure to collapse.
The damage was done because 80mph winds struck the outdoors location, and the loosening of the set led to at least 14 fans getting injured. The venue issued a statement saying that an evacuation was started when the winds knocked over entrance trusses.
Despite this, it was reported that around 150 patrons standing in line “did not heed staff’s warnings”.
Ambulances and paramedics arrived on the scene to see to those who had been injured; those affected were treated at the scene and then taken to local hospitals.
Backstreet Boys, in a comment regarding their gig cancellation, tweeted: “We never want to put our fans in harm’s way and with tonight’s weather and the injuries from earlier, we have decided to cancel the show and will attempt to reschedule. The most important thing is for everyone to get home safely and we will see you all very soon!”
Safety first, guys!
