Late Michael Jackson's 60th Birthday

The King of Pop, Michael Jackson, would have been 60 today. One of his most memorable birthdays captured on TV was in 2002 at the MTV Awards, him turning 44. On that memorable day, he accepted his own present, part of which was Britney Spears dancing to “Billie Jean”, next to a huge birthday cake. Spears wished Jackson “Happy Birthday” and called him artist of the millennium” to which he jokingly responded:
“When I was a little boy growing up in Indiana if someone told me I’d be getting the Artist of the Millennium award, I’d never have believed it.”
Interestingly, the late Michael Jackson has made more revenue since his passing away. In 2009 before his death, Jackson was facing debts up to $500 million (£388 million). Moreover, his estate earned $74 million (£57.4 million) in 2015 and his merchandising arm, Triumph International, brought in $18.8 million (£14.5 million).
As a tribute to Jackson, Mark Ronson has released a mash-up single called ‘Diamonds are Invincible’, which includes several hit songs such as ‘Wanna be Startin’ Somethin”, ‘Billie Jean’ and ‘Smooth Criminal’.
