Iranian Instagram Model Sahar Tabar Known for Plastic Surgery Arrested

Sahar Tabar, 22, who had several rounds of cosmetic surgery to resemble Angelina Jolie, has taken into custody in Tehran for ‘cultural crimes and social and moral corruption’ allegations.
Report Says, most of the photos and videos shared with her 26,800 followers have also been heavily edited so that she seemingly resembles Hollywood star Angelina Jolie.
Ms. Tabar said, “I understand that I do have some similarities with them, but I am my own muse and I did not want to look like anyone.
“I had no interest at all to be like Angelina Jolie, and I did not want to look like the character from ‘Corpse Bride,” she added.
“It is Photoshop and makeup. Every time I publish a photo I make my face more fun. It is my way of self-expression, a kind of art”.
“My followers know that this is not my real face”.
Sahar Tabar was catapulted into the limelight two years ago when her distinctive and often odd Instagram posts gained viral traction. She found fame through Instagram last year after posting a series of images of her face altered through plastic surgery.
Cosmetic surgery is hugely popular in Iran, with tens of thousands of operations each year. Instagram is the only major social media service accessible in Iran. Facebook, Twitter and the Telegram messenger service are officially banned.
The account features images of her with a gaunt face, pouting lips and sharply turned-up nose. In some, photos she is wearing a hijab over her hair and a white bandage on her nose, commonly seen on Tehran’s streets.
Tabar has been called the “corpse bride” charges of blasphemy, inciting violence, gaining income through inappropriate means, insulting the country’s dress code and encouraging youths to corruption, according to an Iranian news agency.
