Heat waves are striking western countries. It’s France now, which recorded a considerable temperature rise yesterday. The temperature rise had been recorded in a series of towns and cities across France on Monday. The country was struck by a heatwave as it is reported by the National Weather Office.
1. Rise in Temperature
Temperature struck 39.3 Celsius in Brest which is located on the Atlantic Coast to its furthest stretch in the northwest of the country. Previously, the temperature was recorded as 35.1°C in 2002. Saint-Brieuc which is located on the Channel coast has recorded a temperature of 39.5°C. It previously recorded 31.8°C. Western Nantes has recorded a rise in temperature which is 42°C while crushing down the previous record of 40.3°C was the highest record mentioned in the year 1949.
2. Climate Change
Climate change is visibly showing itself in these severe weather conditions. Heat waves have become more frequent and are more intense than before owing to an indication the climate needs to be taken care of with much responsibility. The Weather in Southern France rose to its soaring high temperature up to 41°C on Sunday. New records have been predicted the previous day.
It’s needless to say that industrialization has affected the global climate. These heat waves are owing to wildfires in the South Western region of France. 12,000 people had been evacuated from the Gironde region.
3. Climatic Change affecting the Environment
The rising temperatures are an alert that the global climate is changing. This is a caution for the people to protect the environment from all its harm. Ultimately it’s the people who suffer. We are unaware of the climatic conditions that are to prevail in recent times. All that needs to be done is to protect the environment. The European countries are suffering from an awestruck rise in temperature over the last two days which had been painful and yet grabbing the attention.
