Film Friday: Feel-Good movies to watch this weekend!

This week, we bring you a list of fun, feel-good movies to watch under the warm covers on a cold snowy day.

Let it Snow

This 2019 American Christmas comedy stars Maureen Johnson, John Green, and Lauren Myracle. The story is set during Christmas eve when a huge winter storm sweeps across a midwestern town where a group of high school students lives. Although the kids never shared any sort of bond before, they were bound to do so when they crossed paths during the storm. Soon they learn to accept each other and find true love amongst themselves. A fun

It is the perfect movie for young adults to spend their free time during this holiday season. It is relatable, hilarious, and romantic. The creative, emotional, and well-written romance in “Let It Snow” makes it highly recommended for all audiences to watch.

A nightmare before Christmas

If you have never heard about this movie, you are surely living under a rock. The idea of this cult film started off as a poem in 1982 by Tim Burton himself who was working at the Walk Disney Feature Animation.

The Nightmare Before Christmas is a 1993 American stop- motion animated musical fantasy. Directed by Henry Selick, the movie tells the story of Jack Skellington, the king of the Halloween town who accidentally stumbles across a portal that leads him into the Christmas town. The town is obsessed with celebrating the holiday season and soon Jack finds himself engulfed with the colors and magic of Christmas. The situation becomes riveting when his obsession with Christmas leads him to abduct Santa Claus.

The film has also got some remarkable sound score which remained with me for years. As per my personal opinion, A nightmare before Christmas is my favorite holiday movie of all time.

The Holiday

This 2006 romantic movie stars Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz in the lead roles of Iris and Amanda. Directed by Nancy Meyers, the movie depicts the story of these two lovelorn women who live on opposite sides of the Atlantic Ocean. When they arrange a home exchange to escape heartbreak during the Christmas season, things start to take unexpected turns. The movie stars Jude Law and Jack Black as the leading men.

This is a movie that can be watched multiple times. The characters are relatable yet very complex. The surprising developments of their characters as the story unfolds keeps you gripped throughout the movie. All in all, this is a wonderful entertaining holiday film with a happy ending. A good light-hearted feel-good rom-com with an impressive cast to enjoy with your loved ones.
