Movie freaks! Here we again near to the weekend and WhatsOn editorial is back with a list of the film which you can add up for this Friday’s entertainment. Grab some popcorn and enjoy your weekend by watching our selected movies! Afrin Juhi writes.

Rite of The Shaman

The film is directed and written by Alicia Oberle Farmer. Casts by Melinda Yeaman, Shane Morrisun, Jd Allen, Kayli Brummer, Violet Myers, James Morris, and Brittney Souther. It’s about Kai a mute high school student who takes care of his fatally ill mother. He finds comfort in botany and nature, as well as memories of his late grandfather. His late grandfather was a shaman and owl trainer. While trying to cope with loss, Kai struggles with the pressures of high school, as well as the pressures of caring for his mother. He sinks into depression and pushes away everyone that he loves when he discovers how bad his mother’s cancer really is. Ultimately Kai is in conflict with a decision. Will he continue to go down the dark path he is heading toward or will he become the healer and beacon of light that he was truly meant to be? Rite of the Shaman is about an incredible adventure overcoming life’s everyday challenges.

The movie was released in US theaters on May 27, 2022.

A Chiara

Winner of the Cannes’ Directors’ Fortnight Award and a rising voice in Italian cinema, filmmaker Jonas Carpignano directed the film, A Chiara. This full suspense drama casts Swamy Rotolo, Claudio Rotolo, Grecia Rotolo. The character is about the study of a teenager, Chiara, who gradually comes to discover that her close-knit family is not all that it seems. The Guerrasio family joins in a gathering to celebrate Claudio and Carmela’s oldest daughter’s birthday, and by the time Claudio disappears. Furiously, Chiara investigates her father’s disappearance. She gets closer to the difficult truth about her mysteriously missing father.  Then the crime indicates that control of her region. Chiara is forced to decide what kind of future she wants to decide for herself. A Chiara catches the attraction of both an intimate and universal family story.

The film was released in the theatre on May 27, 2022.

Distant (UZAK)

Turkish author Nuri Bilge Ceylan wrote, directed, photographed, produced, and co-edited this profoundly beautiful picture about detachment and isolation. . It’s a story about a relatively successful commercial photographer who has been struggling to come to terms with the growing gap between his artistic ideals and his professional obligations. His tedious workload, coupled with the lingering loss he still feels for his ex-wife. Mahmut tries to cling to the melancholic and obsessive routines of his solitary life. The austerity of his story overwhelms the heartwarming, often comic, moments that permeate this award-winning film. The movie is set in a wintry, contemporary Istanbul, the stunning cinematography was clearly instrumental in procuring the Grand Prix at the 2003 Cannes Film Festival. Muzaffer Özdemir and Mehmet Emin Toprak also shared best actor honors for their remarkable performances.

The movie premiered in Big World Picture on April 15, 2022.

The Sarmat Prithviraj

The film Samrat Prithviraj is based on the life and heroism of the fearless and mighty Prithviraj Chauhan. The film is directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi. The superstar Akshay Kumar is playing the role of the warrior in this film and Manushi Chillar is cast as a heroine in the film. Historians and folk legends portray him as an incredibly brave king and it’s a biography. The king stood in front of the merciless Muhammad of Ghor and his ruthless invaders of India. Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan`s daredevilry and heroism against Muhammad of Ghor glorify him as a legendary ruler and fighter of free India.

The film is releasing all over India on June 3, 2022.

Habji Gabji

Habji Gabji is a Bengali movie directed by Raj Chakraborty. The movie stars Parambrata Chatterjee and Subhashree Ganguly in prominent roles. The movie is based on a true story and the storyline is about a kid whose ambitious parent neglects their parenthood responsibility. The situation pushes the kid into the world of online gaming and the kid becomes addicted. After that, the situation becomes worse for the parents.

The film expecting to release all over India on June 3, 2022.
