Film Friday: 5 movie selections of the week!

The most favorite and most relaxing way to spend your weekend is watching films where you can include your friends and family with some food and drinks. Hence for the movie freaks! This week’s WhatsOn editorial is back with a selective listing of the films which you can watch to make your weekend interesting and have some quality time with your loving ones! Tama Sarker writes

1. The film Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank

The film Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank had its Los Angeles premiere on July 10, 2022, and Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies distributed it in the US on July 15, 2022. The 2022 computer-animated martial arts comedy is helmed by Rob Minkoff & Mark Koetsier, with additional direction from Chris Bailey. Hank, a down-on-his-luck hound, is thrown into a hamlet full of cats who need a hero to protect them from a vicious villain’s (Ricky Gervais) diabolical scheme to wipe their village off the map. Michael Cera plays Hank. In order to rescue the day, our underdog must play the part of the town samurai with the aid of the locals and a reluctant teacher (Samuel L. Jackson). The only issue is that cats despise dogs!

2. The Man from Toronto

The movie is an American action comedy, which was helmed by Patrick Hughes in 2022. In addition to Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson, the movie also stars Ellen Barkin, Kaley Cuoco, Jasmine Mathews, Lela Loren, Pierson Fodé, and Jencarlos Canela. Released on June 24, 2022, Netflix premiered The Man from Toronto. A foolish businessman is forced to work with an infamous killer known as “The Man from Toronto” in order to survive a case of mistaken identification.

3. The Gray Man

The film had a constrained theatrical run that started on July 15, 2022, then on July 22, it was made available digitally on Netflix. Critics gave it mixed reviews, praising the ensemble cast but criticizing the “clichéd storyline and rapid speed”. A psychopathic former coworker places a bounty on the head of the most talented CIA operative, whose true identity is unknown, after he accidentally reveals dark agency secrets, sparking a worldwide pursuit by international assassins. 4. Hit the First Case

HIT The First Case is hitting the big screens on 15th July 2022. The story of a 32-year-old police officer with Rajasthan’s Homicide Intervention Team (HIT) is struggling to overcome his own tragic background. His well-wishers and girlfriend advise him to take a break and heal. But when Preethi, an 18-year-old girl, unexpectedly vanishes on Jaipur’s ring road, Vikram recognizes that the case has a personal connection and that he must intervene to find the girl, even though the inquiry causes panic attacks and anxiety at every turn. Directed by Sailesh Kolanu, dialogue, and screenplay: WritersGirish and Kohli Sailesh Kolanu, Stars; Shanu Kumar, Sanya Malhotra, Rajkummar Rao.

5. Shabaash Mithu Srijit Mukherji is the director of the 2022 Indian biographical sports drama film Shabaash Mithu, which was made by Viacom18 Studios. Taapsee Pannu plays the lead role in the movie based on the life of Mithali Raj, who is the former Test and ODI captain of the Indian women’s cricket team. The movie based on her life and journey through life in the realm of women’s cricket is chronicled in it. It depicts her challenges and triumphs in women’s cricket. The movie details Mithali’s life’s highs and lows as well as its proudest moments. The movie premiered on July 15, 2022.
