European Allies and US Expel Russian Diplomats Over Spy Poisoning

The United States along with nearly two dozen Europeans and allies expelled almost 100 Russian spies and diplomats on Monday in an extraordinary coordinated response to the nerve agent attack in England.
Fourteen European Union nations including France, Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic, plus Ukraine announced the expulsion of the envoys. The European Council president Donald Tusk said the expulsions were a “direct follow-up to last week’s European Council decision” in which it “condemned, in the strongest possible terms, the recent attack in Salisbury”.
In an official statement, the White House announced that “The United States takes this action in conjunction with our NATO allies and partners around the world in response to Russia’s use of a military-grade chemical weapon on the soil of the United Kingdom, the latest in its ongoing pattern of destabilizing activities around the world”.
Britain has already expelled 23 Russian diplomats, accusing them of being undeclared intelligence agents, which led Russia to expel the same number of British diplomats.
Regarding this issue, Prime Minister Theresa May said this expulsion was necessary due to Russia’s repeated denial of responsibility in the incident. She called this the “largest collective expulsion of Russian intelligence officers in history.”
