UK’s First Socially Distanced Concert To Take Place In Newcastle

Virgin Money Unity Arena has announced their first socially distanced concert with a lineup including The Libertines, Supergrass, Two Door Cinema Club and more. Puza Snigdha reports.

The Virgin Money Unity Arena is set to open this summer at Newcastle Racecourse and is ready to host artists such as Tom Grennan, Supergrass and Two Door Cinema Club.

The show will kick off on Friday 14 August with a full DJ set from Craig Charles, before Two Door Cinema Club headline on the same day and run until Saturday 5 September.

Some rules the event organizers are following to keep social distance:
• The sitting arrangement is keeping at least two meters away from one the other and the guest have to maintain it.
• Attendees can also receive food and drinks by using a pre-ordered one-way system.
• Toilet facilities also available with a one-way system.

Steve Davis, the managing director of SSD Concerts, said: “We can’t be without music during these times so our only thought has been how can we bring music back to the British public safely and responsibly,”
