Duffy Release New Song ‘River In The Sky’

Singer-songwriter Duffy has shared her new song ‘River In The Sky’. Dipto Paul Reports.

The artist shared the song on June 18 via Instagram post saying: “For the better days to come.”

The haunting track sees the singer backed by a piano as she sings of being “afraid of the dark” and being visited by a nightly presence which “covers me so patiently as I learn to deal with the pain”.

On March Duffy shared another new song “Something Beautiful” with BBC Radio 2 which is still officially unreleased.

‘River in the sky’ is the second release from the artist since her first ‘Endlessly’ which was released back in 2010.

In February this year, she broke her silence on her decade-long absence, explaining that she had been “raped and drugged and held captive over some days” and that her subsequent recovery “took time.”

On a lengthy post at her website titled ‘The 5th House’ Duffy described all her experiences during the absence.

“If you are reading this, I must warn you it contains information some may find upsetting,” she advised.

“This story is not going anywhere, it will remain online, if you are not able to take on someone else’s suffering or the recounting of such, I recommend you do not read on.”
