Disney+ Announces New Series ‘Star Wars: The Bad Batch’

Disney+ has announced on Monday that a new animated series ‘Star Wars: The Bad Batch’ is to stream in 2021. Puza Snigdha reports.

This new series follows the “Bad Batch,” a squad of experimental clones as they find their way in a rapidly changing galaxy in the immediate aftermath of the Clone War. The new series will start where the clone war ended and following the soldiers, they are forced to take on mercenary missions and find a new purpose.

Clone Force 99, aka The Bad Batch, first made an appearance in the season 7 premiere of The Clone Wars.

“Giving new and existing fans the final chapter of Star Wars: The Clone Wars has been our honour at Disney+, and we are overjoyed by the global response to this landmark series,” said Agnes Chu, senior vice president of Content at Disney+.

They added: “While The Clone Wars may have come to its conclusion, our partnership with the groundbreaking storytellers and artists at Lucasfilm Animation is only beginning. We are thrilled to bring Dave Filoni’s vision to life through the next adventures of the Bad Batch.”

The series will be executive produced by The Mandalorian and The Clone Wars’ Dave Filoni, Athena Portillo, Brad Rau, and Jennifer Corbett.
