Hygge: A New Way
“Hygge” is the Danish term for creating a warm and comfortable atmosphere, which also exists in Norwegian. It’s related to the word hug, which is exactly what the clothing this season felt like: a hug for our stylish hearts. Designers Malene Birger and Saks Potts took cozy to the next level and provided their own interpretation of hygge.
Tent Coats
Somewhere between a hybrid of a sleeping bag and a poncho, tent coats are your portable safe space wherever you go. Mark Kenly Domino Tan provided a chic minimal take with layers of various shades of brown while Designer’s Nest designer Boram Yoo provided dramatic florals that felt simultaneously serious and beautiful.
Puffed Up Accessories
Riding off of the quilted trend this season, next season will usher in puffy scarves and boots galore. It’s an easy and simple way to add some extra texture to your look. One can wear it casual with a matching set or dressed up à la Baum und Pferdgarten with a sheer dress and wool overcoat.
