Celebrities Shows Solidarity Attending Black Live Matters Protest

Following the tragic death of George Floyd, protests have taken place across all 50 states in the US as well as the UK, Europe, Canada and New Zealand where celebrities are taking part giving an emotional, strong and motivational speech. Puza Snigdha reports.

John Boyega. John Boyega joined the event yesterday where he gave strong and emotional speech following Floyd’s death. He has been praised over social media for what he did. “Black lives have always mattered. We have always been important. We have always meant something. We have always succeeded regardless. And now is the time. I ain’t waiting,” said Boyega and also added, “speaking to you from my heart”, adding: “Look, I don’t know if I’m going to have a career after this, but fuck that.”

Dua Lipa Dua Lipa joined the crowds alongside her boyfriend Anwar Hadid, shared videos on Instagram.

Ariana Grande Ariana attended the protest in West Hollywood and Beverly Hills on 31st May. She posted a black square with links to Black Lives Matter accounts for her 189 million followers on Instagram, captioned, “Sending strength and if you are protesting today please be safe.”

Rihanna Posting a black square on her twitter feed she wrote, “We ain’t buying st!!! and we ain’t selling st neither!! gang gang! #BLACKOUTTUESDAY AF!!!”.

Keke Palmer She has gone viral for her inspiring speech that ended with members of the National Guard kneeling to show solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement.

Sam Smith Smith shared a series of powerful banners and photos from the march.

Awate The rapper tweeted, “Instead of this performance, we should find a way to unionise and innovate methods of supporting the struggles of our people under attack. Capitalism got us here. Let’s try a collective approach.”
