Birisiri

The blue water lake of Birisiri is located at the Kulagora Upazila of Durgapur Thana from Netrakona district which is popular in Bangladesh for it’s spectacular natural beauty. It offers little in terms of tourist sights, but the journey here, across lush farmland, is extremely picturesque and the village is within striking distance of the highly photogenic China Clay Hills. Most interestingly perhaps, Birisiri offers travellers the chance to meet and learn more about the Garo people. During your way to the blue lake, you’ll be enthralled by the picturesque view of the village and the beautiful shomeswari river.
From Birisiri you can hire an electric rickshaw for the whole day and they will take you to all those places and the fare is also very cheap, about Tk 500 per day. The local bazaar was vibrant and full of fresh vegetables, fish, dry fish and other local delicacies. As it is very close to the Garo Hills, the vegetables were fresh.
