Bearded Theory Festival

Bearded Theory, Derbyshire’s award-winning, family-friendly festival, returns to Catton Hall with its best lineup in its 11-year history!
Headliners of the likes of Robert Plant, Blossoms, Jimmy Cliff, and Sleaford Mods will top a bill of more than 100 live acts throughout the 4-day festival.
The hottest band in the UK right now, Blossoms, will be headlining Friday, offering the best opportunity to hear their new material live. Their debut single Charlemagne was Radio 1’s ‘Track of the Day’, and their new single ‘I Can’t Stand it’ has been added to radio playlists all over the country. Their anticipated second album ‘Cool Like You’ is set for a 27 April release.
Saturday night will offer a rare festival performance by Robert Plant, ex-Led Zeppelin frontman, and his incredible band The Sensational Space Shifters, who have been selling out venues all over the world.
Joining Robert Plant in the lineup, Jimmy Cliff will be headlining on Sunday. Scottish indie legends The Jesus & Mary Chain will also be playing, as well as local boy Jake Bugg, electronic punk duo Sleaford Mods, English punk sensations Idles, alongside classic festival acts such as Fun Lovin Criminals, The Coral, Sleeper, and Dub Pistols.
Bearded Theory Festival will also boast award-winning children’s area will be back bigger and better than ever! Alongside their unique on-site school, there is a massive range of free activities for all ages: children’s village and village green daytime activities, and evening parade, a beautiful campfire and many more.
Having started more than a decade ago as a birthday party in a pub garden, Bearded Theory has become one of the UK’s best festivals, earning major awards like Best Small Festival’, ‘Best Promoter’ and ‘Best Family Festival’ at the UK Festival Awards; ‘Best UK Independent Festival’ at the AIM Independent Music Awards, and the Festival Kidz ‘Gold Award’.
Bearded Theory is 100% independent, meaning that preference goes to local suppliers, partners and traders whenever possible. Derbyshire’s magnificent Thornbridge Brewery runs the bars, bringing a variety of cask ales, lagers, and ciders at reasonable prices.
The Festival will take place from Thursday 24 May until Sunday 27 May. Tickets are available here, with standard tickets costing £115. Concessions are available for younger festival-goers. Tickets for under 6’s are free of charge.
