The Met brings out its edition of “Los Alamos,” the most famous portfolio of images by William Eggleston. Now, fifty years later, he is arguably its greatest exemplar. This exhibition features a landmark gift to The Met by Jade Lau of the artist’s most prominent portfolio, Los Alamos. The series have never been shown in its entirety in New York City and includes the artist’s first color photograph of a young clerk pushing a train of shopping carts at a supermarket in Memphis, Tennessee.
