The 105th edition of the Tour de France, one of cycling’s three Grand Tours of The 3,351 km race started from Noirmoutier-en-l’Ile, in the Vendee department, on 7 July and will finish with the Champs-Elysees stage in Paris, on 29 July. A total of 176 riders across 22 teams are participating in the 21 stages. The Tour is the shortest of the millennium and will be the fifth time a tour has set out from the Vendee department.
The greatest prize of all is to wear the yellow jersey on the final day in Paris  and alongside a warm glow. Stage winners aren’t just racing for glory, either, receiving €11,000, with cash extending down to 20th place the recipient of which may out sprint 21st for €300.
