Timothée Chalamet Shares His First Look As ‘Wonka’

You don’t have to rely just on your imagination any longer. Timothée Chalamet has shared the first look at his portrayal of Willy Wonka in the upcoming film about the future chocolate factory owner.

In Wonka, which is planned to be released in 2023, the actor will play a young version of the chocolate factory owner. Chalamet has 13.6 million Instagram followers. On his social media platforms earlier today, Chalamet shared a snapshot of himself on the set of the film on October 10. He’s dressed in a burgundy coat and scarf with a brown top hat. A hand could be seen reaching for a brass knob attached to a miniature present box on the top of staff in a second, close-up photo posted on Instagram.

“The suspense is terrible,” he captioned his Instagram post. “I hope it will last…”

Paul King will direct the film, which he co-wrote with Simon Farnaby. Harry Potter’s David Heyman is producing. Also Luke Kelly, Michael Siegel, and Alexandra Derbyshire, with Michael Siegel and Alexandra Derbyshire serving as executive producers.

The third Willy Wonka picture has been revealed by Warner Bros., although it will not be based on Roald Dahl’s classic Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

The plot is unknown, although it will be an origin story for the character and will be the first time Charlie Bucket is absent. The Wonka narrative is being adapted for the third time by WB, with the previous two films being adaptations of Dahl’s original stories.

Earlier this year Chalamet teased a “huge” role for Zendaya in a proposed sequel to Dune.

The film will star Olivia Colman, Keegan-Michael Key, Sally Hawkins, Paterson Joseph, Rowan Atkinson, Matt Lucas, and others, and will be released on March 17, 2023.
