The World Judo Championships

The World Judo Championships are the highest level of international judo competition, along with the Olympic judo competition. The championships are held once every year since 1956 (except the years when the Olympics take place) by the International Judo Federation, and qualified judoka compete in their respective categories as representatives of their home countries.
World Championships Seniors and Teams Baku 2018 will be held in Baku for the first time. The International Judo Federation (IJF) President Marius Vizer expressed confidence that the tournament will be organized excellently in Baku, as this city has a wonderful tradition of organizing international events
