‘The Walking Dead’ Star Scott Wilson Dies of leukemia at Age 76

Scott Wilson, famous for playing ‘Hershel Greene’ on the TV series “The Walking Dead” has died on Saturday at the age in Los Angeles after fighting with Leukemia.
The Georgia-born actor made his film debut in Norman Jewison’s seminal 1967 film In The Heat Of The Night, playing a man suspected of murder.
Wilson starred on the series from 2011 to 2014. His return for the upcoming season was announced just hours earlier on Saturday. Wilson had already filmed his scenes for season nine.
Releasing a statement from “The Walking Dead” Twitter account, the official statement stated “Our thoughts are with his family and friends. Rest in paradise, Scott. We love you!”
Scott will always be remembered as a great actor and we all feel fortunate to have known him as an even better person. The character he embodied on The Walking Dead, Hershel, lived at the emotional core of the show,’ told AMC in a report.
Colleagues and fans paid tribute to Wilson, who starred in around 30 episodes of the The Walking Dead in seasons two, three and four.
“The first time I met Scott Wilson, he gave me a big hug and said that this thing I had become a part of… was a family”, said co-actor Kary Payton, who plays the character of Ezekiel in “The Walking Dead”.
Though the character was killed in Season 4. But hours before Wilson’s death was announced, show-runner Angela Kang revealed that Wilson had filmed new scenes as Greene and would be making an appearance in the shows upcoming ninth season which made the fans more upset.
